less than no frills

When I signed up with this car insurance company I understood it was no frills, but I had a poor experience of the way they deal with customers. After the first year of cover they sent me a letter saying the policy would automatically renew. It didn't, and three days later I was arrested for driving without insurance. The Police officer even rang them up and they said to him they had sent a letter to me confirming this. Guess what? The letter arrived postmarked the day after I was arrested! By this time of course I had renewed my insurance with them.
Now it is 5 months later and I moved house. Ok, I thought, I'll ring the 60p a minute customer service number to change my details. I was told that this was no longer possible and I had to do it online. I went online and I had to provide a password to access my account. I have never set a password, and when customer services were queried about this they told me one had been randomly generated for me, but they couldn't tell me what it was for security reasons!!! I was told my only option now was to cancel my insurance and start a new policy (and lose my no claims bonus!!)
So I have renewed my cover. With someone else. Try www.insure.co.uk as an alternative
